Data and Analytics

The Data and Analytics unit is part of If’s IT Engineering and our main responsibility is to maintain and develop data and analytics solutions for the Private and Commercial business areas. We are responsible for data lake, data warehouse, analytics and business intelligence solutions. Our overall data platform is a cornerstone in If’s data strategy and we work according to agile development principles with product owners and scrum teams.
You will be joining a Nordic unit with a total of 45 enthusiastic developers, specialists, architects and managers. Our teams are located in the If offices in Oslo, Turku and Stockholm.


As a Data Engineer you design, build and implement solutions including data modeling, data warehousing and data pipelines.You work in a cross-functional team consisting of developers, product owners, architects and analysts. You also work on improving data reliability, efficiency and quality as well as collaborate with other developers and architects to define best practices.
You will be a great fit for the role if you enjoy working as part of a team, but you're also happy to design and develop solutions on your own. You push your team forward on best practices and ways of working and you enjoy working with people from different backgrounds.

Desired skills and experience

  • Experience in data warehousing as well as developing and/or designing data pipelines
  • Solid SQL skills and familiarity with Python
  • Experience in data modeling and data architecture
  • Experience with agile methodologies, working in teams, using DevOps and Git
  • Fluency in English, proficiency in at least one Nordic language and good communication skills
